Another lovely dining addition to the quickly growing, Tampa Water Street! The Pearl Restaurant backed by Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (Ocean Prime Group) is a concept that began in Columbus Ohio and is the first of its kind in Tampa.
The Pearl is an elevated neighborhood tavern and oyster bar that opened its doors to the public on March 7th. I went for a preview dinner with friends and we really enjoyed the food, atmosphere, wine list & overall dining experience.
Our favorite food items were the jalapeño cornbread, seafood tower, ricotta dumplings, and the red snapper catch of the day paired with Unshackled Cabernet Sauvignon by Prisoner Wine Co. For my next visit, I will be more inclined to order some of the lighter dishes like the beet salad and other seafood offerings, but it was our first visit, so we had to splurge!
The cocktail program was wonderful, starting with the Tavern Spritz as an Aperitif. Of course, I ordered an espresso martini after dinner and this was served with thick foam, rich coffee flavor (not too sweet!) and a dash of cinnamon powder on top. We finished our meal with one of their iconic pies that are baked fresh daily. We ordered the Brown Sugar Pie and was pleasantly surprised.
The atmosphere is stylish, urban, eclectic and inviting, locate on the corner of one of the best locations in Tampa, right across the street from the bustling Amalie Arena and The EDITION hotel. One thing that stood out to me was the art installation above the expansive bar that is a detailed map of Tampa Bay that really created a neighborhood restaurant vibe.
The Pearl is open 7 days a week for lunch & dinner and is now accepting reservations on Open Table! Enjoy.
